The 2025 Phoenix Lion Dance Championships, held on March 8-9 of 2025, in Phoenix, AZ is a USDLDF qualifier for both Jongs (High Poles) and Traditional Lion Dance categories.
The USDLDF has received many invitations, over the years, to send qualified USDLDF lion dance teams to represent the United States in prestigious international competitions all over Asia and beyond.
What does it take to qualify to compete as Team USA under the USDLDF at an international event?
To receive an invitation to one of these international competitions, the team must have an active School Membership with the USDLDF at the time of registration, the date of the qualifying event, as well as the date of the international competition in which said team is representing the USDLDF.
The highest-ranking USDLDF member team will get the first opportunity to accept the invitation. If they decline, the next highest-ranking team, with USDLDF membership, will get the opportunity to accept.
Keep in mind that, if the first-place place team is not a USDLDF member, they will not receive an invitation.
